WHAT IS THE FOTONA LASER?
The Fotona Laser is a revolutionary way to improve your experience in the dental office. Rather than using a traditional drill that is loud and invasive, the laser can be utilized to cut through both hard and soft tissue. We can use the Fotona Laser to prepare teeth for fillings, crowns and bridges as well as perform oral surgeries. The laser is quick, painless and provides our patients with an easier and more comfortable dental experience.
WHY WOULD THE FOTONA LASER BE NEEDED?
The Fotona Laser can be used for a variety of different dental treatments. Because it is able to cut through both hard and soft tissues, it can be used for restorative and cosmetic work. The Fotona Laser doesn’t have the same sound as a drill, so it’s often easier for patients who tend to have anxiety while in the dental chair.
WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR THE FOTONA LASER?
Most of our patients are good candidates for the Fotona Laser. This is because the laser is safe and highly effective. It is incredibly precise when it comes to how it can prepare teeth for additional treatment, and it is far less painful and invasive when compared to a traditional drill. We can examine your teeth to determine if the Fotona Laser is right for you.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT DURING FOTONA LASER TREATMENT?
We will first sit you comfortably in one of our dental operatories. We may numb the area with a local anesthetic before the laser is used, though this isn’t always necessary. We then use the Fotona Laser to remove either hard or soft tissue during the appointment. This laser provides quick work and doesn’t involve the vibrations or sounds that you’d find with a traditional drill. The remaining work that is needed is done in the office and you’ll be ready to head home. We can and will use the Fotona Laser for most dental procedures and treatments because of its effectiveness and durability.
